I don't always like memes, but when I do they are about economics.

Haha I love this "Easter Fun". The caption below says it all talking about law of demand. We all know Dos XX is a very pricey beer and people still drink it daily been though the prices are $3.75+ at bars, and $18.00+ for a 12-pack at Wal-Mart. I personally drink Dos XX when it is available to me. I drink it more when I have the money to, but if this poster were to come true about Dos XX prices falling I'd drink more and more because the demand of it would be more, so they better not run out if the supply! I agree, people consider XX a superior good and are willing to pay almost 4 dollars per beer at bars here in the US. In Mexico XX is an inferior beer compared to Victoria or Negra Modelo. And if the demand for XX keeps falling eventually it will become an inferior good.

I agree this easter funny is talking about the law of demand and how if the price was to fall every one would drink more dos xx because it is a normal good. However I think you would drink more dos xx also if you started to get more income because you would be more likely to buy a good like more expensive beer.

Oh a good ol' meme, always getting to the points without beating around the bush. From an economic standpoint, this could be held to a case of substitution. In almost every case soft drinks will always be cheaper than alcohol. In this case, we'll assume that the price of beer dramatically drops to below soft drinks. When this happens (If you're of age and/or like the taste) it'll be a 100% switch over to beer. Thank you Dos Equis man for making me think about economics, it's always a pleasure talking about beer. Keep it coming!

It's a good beer, even if it is usually more expensive than other brands, the price will never drop to keystone prices because the demand will hold it in place

This is a great meme about economics and I agree with it completely. Ill buy Dos Equis when it is given to me at a cheaper price. Some places have reasnonable prices for Dos Equis where ill drink it. While some places like 711 have ridiculous prices like 10 dollars for a six pack where I will not pay that much. So when I have money and the price is chaper, Dos Equis is more in demand.

If the income of the consumer, prices of goods, tastes and preferences of the consumer remain the same, the consumer’s demand for the good will move opposite to the movement in the price of the good, like we see here with the beer example.

XX definitely isn't a college students first choice of beer on a Friday due to the fact that it is a little pricey (compared to others). It may be a good beer and I would consider buying it more often if the price dropped. Comments are closed.
